richard avedon, another one of my favorite photographers. discovered him via his 'in the american west' portraits. also saw a retrospective of his work at the national gallery of art washington D.C. many years ago.
re: your december 16 2010 'blue valentine trailer' post. saw the film. michelle williams' performance was heart-rending and stoic, ryan gosling was volcanic and unpredictable. I walked away from the experience unsettled, disturbed and... questioning.
I know his American West Portrait,I saw a retrospective of his work in Paris,around three years ago...and it was really amazing! About Blue Valentine...I hope to see the film soon,but for the moment no Blue Valentine in Italy!Unfortunately! xxx
